Personal Insights in Fashion

Personally, I’ve been referring to fashion on the runway for insights about the latest fashion trend. http://www.style.com is where you can find all sorts of fashion on the runway in the big cities of fashion such as Paris, Milan and New York. But as we all realised, not all of the fashion featured are wearable enough.

But people can always come up with a personal style. For that, I like to refer to http://thesartorialist.blogspot.com. The sartorialist is a fashion photographer who takes pictures of people with personal styles outside the runway shows. As much as I like to see the street fashion overseas, most of the styles are incorporating jackets and winter clothing which are only suitable for the cold climate country. It’s quite impossible to wear them here in our country.

That is why I’m finding myself choosing clothes which are suitable enough to be worn in a warmer climate but not sacrificing the value of modesty at the same time.

I used to be very rigid in my choice of clothing too. When you wear this, you mustn’t wear that and bla bla bla. But as I’m going through fashion blogs, some of the styles I found a little bit weird but other people will see it as being creative. Fashion is not just about being in style. It’s also about making a statement of personal self. The key is to have the attitude to carry the style. See http://fashionation.wordpress.com.

Other than that, I’ve come up with a few tips which can be helpful in your choice of clothing.

1. Be comfortable in what you wear.

- We all know the outcome if you wear something that you’re not comfortable with.

1. Be confident in what you wear.

- Rather than complaining you don’t look good in the clothes, fake that confidence until it becomes real. If all else failed, ditch the clothes.

1. Dress to the occasion.

- Or a notch up. Unless you don’t care how you look.

1. Dress your age.

- You know your age.

They all may sound cliché but don’t be surprised that they are a few of the things which we always take for granted.

Hi! I’m the owner of Fabulous Fashion Sense. I purposely came up with this blog as I would like to gather all the lovely fashionistas out there who have the same interest as mine i.e. blogging about fashion. This is especially for Sabahans as I couldn’t really find fashion blogs which are written by Sabahans. Maybe I didn’t search the right way. But I would love to see us gather our ideas and maybe discuss fashion related issues locally and internationally.
